Summary:
The Power Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance activities within the power plant facility. This role ensures that all equipment, machinery, and systems are properly maintained and running efficiently to support uninterrupted power generation operations. The Power Plant Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of maintenance technicians and collaborate with various departments to achieve organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs, schedules, and procedures to ensure optimal plant performance and compliance with safety regulations.
2. Supervise and provide guidance to the maintenance team, ensuring their adherence to work standards, safety protocols, and policies.
3. Coordinate with the Operations department to plan and execute maintenance activities without disrupting power generation operations.
4. Conduct periodic inspections of power plant equipment, machinery, and systems to identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
5. Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance records to identify trends and implement preventive maintenance strategies.
6. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and high-quality completion of maintenance and repair projects.
7. Manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance activities, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
8. Collaborate with the Power Plant Manager to develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
9. Provide technical support and guidance to the maintenance team, assisting in troubleshooting complex issues.
10. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (X years) in power plant maintenance, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
3. In-depth knowledge of power plant equipment, machinery, and systems, including turbines, boilers, generators, pumps, and electrical systems.
4. Strong technical expertise in maintenance procedures, preventive maintenance strategies, and troubleshooting techniques.
5. Excellent leadership and supervision skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team of maintenance technicians.
6. Solid understanding of safety regulations and protocols within the power plant industry.
7. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders, including internal teams and external contractors.
9. Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify maintenance issues, recommend improvements, and implement corrective actions.
